| At this time I would like to give Ed "Foots" Rogers credit for me owning Bo. Ed called me to tell me he was sorry to hear that my Dual CH GR NT CH Bluesea Wild Willy dog had died. During our conversation he told me that he had purchased a dog Rutter's Pine Meadow Amos from Calvin Shaw of Thompkinsville, KY. At that same time Ed went on to say that Calvin had a nice young dog called Pine Meadow Bo which was doing an outstanding job in the woods. When I called Calvin, of course he was not ready to sell Bo. About a month later Ed called to tell me that Calvin had put Bo in two AKC hunts and won 1st place in both. The next thing Ed told me was that Calvin had priced Bo to two walker men at $7500.
Well, that was good news, and bad news. Yes, the dog was now for sale, but no, my wife would never let me spend that kind of money on a dog. My next move was to call Calvin and set up a date to hunt with a dog of this caliber. Shortly afterwards, I was in Thompkinsville Kentucky hunting with Bo and you know the rest of the story. I pleaded poverty to Calvin and he let me slide a little
Bo is definitely the best dog I've ever owned and he is throwing some nice young pups from the females he has been bred to. Bo is an extremely hard hunting coon dog. You have no problem telling which direction he is headed on the track with his bawl mouth. He has a dying bawl when locating and then goes into a steady chop at 120-130 barks per minute.
Bo's sire NT CH 'PR' Rutter's Pine Meadow Amos was an outstanding reproducer and I truly believe that Bo will meet or exceed his example. |
